Sony Ericsson, ASUS and Garmin are among the new members that have joined Google’s Open Handset Alliance. At least Sony Ericsson has expressed plans to develop an Android based device, but what about Garmin: will the yet to release Nuvifone run on Android?

Google is now offering the Android Dev Phone 1, a special device designed for developers. The phone doesn’t have a SIM lock or a hardware lock and is available for $399.
